Hertfordshire County Council is looking for a self motivated and enthusiastic youth worker to engage with a diverse range of young people to plan, deliver and evaluate creative, innovative and focussed quality curriculum based youth work to develop young people’s personal and social skills.
You will need successful experience of working with young people in a variety of settings.  You require the ability to forged positive relationships with young people, responding flexibly to their needs and those of the service.
You will be given the opportunity to deliver a variety of programmes including issue based work, fixed term programmes, youth councils / forums, National Citizen Service and regular weekly sessions in youth projects and centres, community centres, schools and outdoor education settings.
You will lead a small team of youth support workers and volunteers.  Line management experience is desirable.
Good IT, organisation and communication skills are essential as you will need to record data on a management information system, meet targets, produce reports and correspond with young people, parents and partners. You will be required to deliver face to face work 4 evenings a week including Fridays or Saturdays, at other times during the week, at the weekends, during school holidays and residentials.  You will be required to travel across the county so access to a vehicle is desirable.
